Pennsylvania has completed a three year pilot looking at promising practices in the field of reading for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. What we learned in our journey will be shared via this wiki and ongoing workshops with PaTTAN (Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network). Our goal is to share information and support each other as we implement new strategies in reading.

Lana Edwards Santoro, Ph.D Lana currently works as a researcher and educational consultant with the East Division of the Pacific Institutes for Research in Eugene, Oregon and the Instructional Research Group in Long Beach, California. She recently received federal funding from the U. S. Department of Education, Institute for Educational Sciences, to explore the relationships between the knowledge and use of comprehension strategies. Santoro also currently serves as a consultant for the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Technical Training and Assistance Network. In her work with PaTTAN, Santoro assists with a school reform, reading initiative and conducts state-wide institutes related to literacy instruction.
